At the end of our semi-final game against the Mooretown Flag Jr, top honours for this game went to Hunter L. Knowing this was a tough game going in, Hunter L. didn’t let that get to him and he performed spectacularly throughout. Despite it being his third game of the day, his speed and intensity remained top shelf.  He had more steals than bank robber on a good day and tirelessly protected our end.  Even as the scoreboard climbed, Hunter didn’t let that stop him; remaining diligent and aggressive throughout.  Congratulations Hunter on a game well played!

At the end of Game #3 against the North Durham Warriors, the pick for Hardest Worker of the Game was obvious – it went to Tyson O., who scored the only goal of the game to successfully clinch the win and catapult us into the semi-final round.  Tyson’s performance that day was phenomenal.  He was aggressive and had many rushes on net. His passing was spot on and he remained focused throughout a hard fought battle, which paid off in the end. Congratulations to Tyson, a very valuable member of the Zarmac AE team!

After playing the formidable Flags, our defensive lines (l-r), Doran S., Malcolm G., Hunter L. and Jack G.  were (very deservedly!) awarded the golden stick award for passing.  In response to the Flags aggressiveness in the first period, our defensive lines stepped it up a notch and the results were obvious.  They all played their positions well; set up some great passes and thwarted the Flags’ offence at every turn.  They are certainly credited with our phenomenal come back.  Congratulations to all!

Following our second game of the tournament against the Mooretown Jr. Flags, Ben W., our goalie, took top honours of the Hardest Worker of the Game.  Coming back to tie the Flags 3 – 3 at the end of this hard-fought game was a phenomenal feat and in large part, the work of Ben W.  The statistics at the end of the game showed that Ben ended up successfully defending against the majority of the 49 shots on net that the Flags pelted at him during the game.  Ben was clearly a solid force throughout the game and didn’t let the initial goals sidetrack him from his task.  Well done Ben on a spectacular game!
