Atom AE Bears Tune-up for Home tournament with a Split of Exhibition Games in Lindsay
Game #1 was a fast, aggressive affair.    Joshua D. netted the first goal of the game in the first minute of play, after picking up a beautiful pass from Tyson O, to put the Bears on the scoreboard.   Kye D. in net played a great period, blocking some relentless shots on net.   However, the Muskies followed suit and tied the game up a minute later.

However, the Muskies followed suit and tied the game up a minute later.  Heading into the second period, the Muskies were up 2 – 1.  In the second period, Lincoln W., assisted by Phenix C. and Trent C., belted one in. This was quickly followed by Tyson O., who popped in the second goal of the period, assisted by Joshua D and Hunter L.  The Bears were outscored heading into the third period, but the team didn’t give up. Defencemen Doran S., Grayden Z. and Malcolm G. all played aggressively, trying to thwart the Muskies at all costs.  Chris R. notched up a goal early in the third period, assisted by Lincoln W. Following suit, Tyson O. popped in his second goal of the game a minute later.  However, ultimately, the Bear’s five goals weren’t enough as the home side skated to victory.

However the loss in the a.m., didn’t dampen the Bears' spirits.  They headed into Game 2 seeking revenge.  The Muskies got on the scoreboard early in the first; ending the first period leading by 1.  The beginning of the second period saw the Muskies net another goal, upping their lead 2 – 0.  However the Muskies lead didn’t last long.

Two minutes into the second period, Joshua D. got the scoring parade started, by notching two goals for the Bears just two minutes apart from each other to tie up the game and give the Bears the break they needed.    Tyson O. set up the first goal; Hunter L. and Brayden R., were credited with assists on the second.   Not happy with the score just being tied, Phenix C. bagged one in, assisted by Lincoln W. to send the Bears up the scoreboard.

Less than a minute later,  Tyson O. clocked a spectacular goal in, assisted by Joshua D., to take a commanding  4 - 2 lead over the Muskies.  The Muskies rebounded back by scoring another goal in the second, ending the period a close 4 – 3.  However, Brayden R. blasted into the third period scoring the first goal of the period, assisted by Trent C. and Hunter L.   Minutes later, Lincoln W. scored his second goal of the game to give the Bears the upper hand.  As the minutes trickled down in the third period, the Muskies managed to get one more in but ran out of steam, so the Bears clinched it 6 – 4 in an amazing comeback from the morning’s game.  Ben W. gave a solid performance in net.  As usual, our defensive lines were stellar throughout the game.  Doran S., Grayden Z., Malcolm Gu, as well as Hunter L., were forces to be reckoned with during this game and hustled like never before.  Their tenacity, speed and pressure on the Muskies offensive lines certainly paid off.  This was an amazing way to end the day and a good prep
for the Bear’s home tournament that kicks off March 22, 2019.
