Blakewood Construction, Novice LL - Dodge Caravan, 2016-2017 (South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association)

As our season has come to a close and Blakewood Construction is basking in our glory as the Champions in our in-house league and the second place team overall in the Muskoka Parry Sound Local League, the bench staff and I would like to take this opportunity to give a shout out to both Dodge Caravan as the sponsor of our Novice Local League and to Blakewood Construction, as the individual sponsor for our team. 

Fresh off our silver medal victory in Sundridge, our team returned to Muskoka to play our In House Championships against our other two teams, Wes Finch and Sons and Middaugh Masonry.  This tournament had a round robin, where each team played a game and then the final two teams advanced to the final championship game. 

At the end of the Championship game, the coaches from the Almaguin Ice Devils team chose our goalie, Corbin H., as deserving of the MVP title for this game.  While our whole team worked well to finish second over all and give the Ice Devils a run for their money, Corbin played phenomenally during the whole tournament.  He was calm, collected and had some amazing defensive moves.  Congratulations Corbin, well deserved!! After winning against Huntsville HRC early on Sunday morning, March 5th, 2017, our team went out in the afternoon to play the formidable Ice Devils in the league’s Championship game.  While the Ice Devils had an impressive record winning all of their regular season games, if there was any team to take them on, it was Blakewood Construction.  Our team went in, pumped to play hard and to make the Ice Devils sweat.
