On Sat. Dec. 30th, the team played the Muskoka
Rock in Port Carling and the holiday hiatus didn’t seem to effect them as the
team came together to handily secure a 5 – 1 win. This victory was due in large part to the
great teamwork exhibited by three of our forwards, Grayson C., Phenix C. and
Charlie D. Grayson C. picked up a hat
trick and two assists; Phenix C. picked up a goal and 3 assists; and Charlie D.
clocked in a goal and 3 assists. Each of
them played to the best of their ability.
They were quick on their feet, hustled and always looked for the
opportunity – whether it was to score or give it up. Their passing game was extremely strong and
they were united as a team.
Congratulations boys – well deserved!

On Dec. 16/17, Wyatt G. picked up the
honour of being the “Hardest Worker of the Game” and awarded the team hard hat
in our game against Parry Sound. Wyatt played an
impressive defensive game; he has
amazing speed and ruined the Rock’s chances of scoring time after time. Wyatt’s calm but determined attitude is a
reflection of how focused he is on the ice. Moreover, despite playing top shelf
defensively, Wyatt took advantage of the opportunity to break out past the blue
lines, with some rushes on the net.
These paid off as he carried it through, scoring a phenomenal goal in
the 3rd period to cement our win with a score of 8 – 1. Congratulations Wyatt, awesome game!

On Dec. 9th, after a hard fought game against the
Dundas Blues, Jack McG., our team captain, picked up the Hardest Worker of the
Game award as well as picking up the title of “MVP” of game. The Dundas Blues were strong but our team,
lead by Jack, rose to the challenge. He was aggressive and “on” throughout the
game and remained focused and
determine. He never gave up and kept up his offensive attack throughout the game, taking advantage of
every scoring opportunity. Jack played
strategically and exhibited great teamwork.
Jack’s hard work paid off as he scored the only goal of the game, saving
our team from a shutout and limiting the Blue’s lead to just one. Congratulations Jack, very well done!

On Nov. 30th, 2017, after playing a hard fought
game against the Huntsville Otters in Baysville, Grayden Z. picked up the
distinguished “Hardest Worker of the Game” award, earning him the right to wear
the team hard hat. This was a tough
game, with Huntsville coming out strong offensively. However, Grayden was a force to be reckoned
with throughout the game. He thwarted
those Otter forwards at every turn, not giving them an inch. Grayden was
constantly in position, made some amazing steals and his passes were right on
point. It was Grayden’s determination
and skill that kept this an extremely close game. Congratulations Grayden, well deserved
indeed!

In this game, against the Oro-Thunder, hands-down the “Hardest Worker of the Game” was Grayson Cauley. Throughout this very tough game, Grayson gave it all he had. He was aggressive on the puck, kept his feet moving at lightning speed, kept the pressure on and didn’t give up. He was a force to be reckoned with to the Thunder's defensive lines. Consequently, Grayson was able to penetrate their net on two amazing plays, netting our only two goals and putting us on the scoreboard. Congratulations Grayson!!
