U8 LL Muskoka Timber Mills (South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association)

 

The MPSHL Jamboree (Muskoka Parry Sound Hockey League) usually has a year end jamboree of hockey in March.  This year in consideration of the older age groups playoff scheduling they have moved up this event to take place on Sunday, January 12th.

 

Each team U7 and U8 in the league will be guaranteed 2 games and receive a participation medal.  There is no fee for us to participate in this fun hockey jamboree.

 

Our games have been scheduled at the South River-Machar Community Centre located in South River. I will be adding them to our Sportzheads App and the South Muskoka Minor Hockey Schedule momentarily. In the coming week if you can update your attendance to Yes, Maybe or No in the availability section of the Sportzheads App it is appreciated!

Hi Muskoka Timber Mills!

 

Excited for our last jamboree of our season! Due to ice availability issues, our first game is at the Bala Arena and then the remainder are at Port Carling Arena.

 

Port Carling Arena - 3 Bailey St, Port Carling - Additional parking is available at the Township office next door. The Port Carling Arena has a Canteen with hot dogs, snacks, pop, water, coffee and tea available.

 

Bala Arena - 1009 Maple Ave, Bala - Additional parking available across the road from the Legion. The Bala Arena does not have a stocked Canteen. 

 

Note They will be also ordering pizzas for sale at Port Carling Arena, if you want in on pizza I am happy to organize and will take a headcount in our Sportsheadz App Chat.

 

There are limited options for food in Port Carling,  

• Subway - 151 Medora St - Limited Seating
• Pie Wood Fired Pizza -  114 Medora St - Opens at 11:30 AM - Limited seating
• Oliver's Coffee - 5368 Hwy 118 West - Doughnuts, Muffins, Breakfast Sandwiches, limited Wraps and Lunch Sandwiches. No seating available. 

The Jamboree has booked the Port Carling Community Center for overflow for teams to hang out between games. It is in the same Parking Lot as the arena. 

 

Games will have a 5 minute warm up and 40 minutes of play split into two 20 minute periods. Line changes will be made once all four players from each team have reached the bench and the coach/trainer from each team acknowledges each to each other they are ready to release the next line. The puck will be picked up by the on ice volunteer between each change and tossed to the boards on the far side of the ice once the line change has been made. There will be a flood between each game.

 

Due to having four teams on the ice at each time and only 6 dressing rooms they have doubled teams from the same center in dressing rooms.

 

There will be a 50/50 with tickets for sale in the Lobby with proceeds going to the Muskoka Rock U8 team fund. The winner will be announced at the end of the 12 PM game.

1:00pm   South Muskoka Black vs. Kawartha Coyotes @ Port Carling
