NorStar Novice Bears Leave Their Mark
It was a powerful start to Saturday’s game as the NorStar Novice Rep Bears took to the ice against the Huntsville Otters! The Bears were roaring to kick start their 2014-15 season.
They dug their claws in and were quick to score the first goal of the game only minutes into the
first period! Euan Greenfield was off to a great start with the first goal of the game assisted by Tyler
Crockford.
With an energetic crowd the Bears kept the Otters on their toes while scoring another amazing goal
minutes after the first! Wesley French came in with the second goal of the game assisted by Ethan
Loader.
By the end of the first period the Bears and Otters were neck-in-neck with a 2-2 tie.
While the score continued to rise in the second period, the Bears kept the Otters busy on the ice with
quick skating, lots of good passing, hard work, persistence, and great team work!
Goalies Ben Armstrong and Andres Alfaro continued to make great saves and made the Otters work for
their goals while our defensemen intercepted many passes into the slot, thus, preventing the Otters
from scoring opportunities.
Hats off to Wesley French who scored the third goal of the game assisted by Euan Greenfield.
The final score of the game was 4-3 for the Otters; however, the Bears put forth a remarkable effort and
played their hardest today making the crowd proud!!!
Way to go Bears this is a great start to the 2014-15 season and we certainly have a lot to look forward
this year watching you all play!
Thank you Michelle McAdams for this great report of the game.
