Simplistically, a team is like a small business with the coach being the CEO (Chief Executive Officer) and the manager being the COO (Chief Operating Officer). The COO is responsible for the off-ice tasks, whether completing these tasks on their own or overseeing the delegation of their completion. They are responsible for the operational aspects of the team, allowing the coaches to focus on player development and on-ice instruction. Your manager should be the central figure in creating the flow of communication between your team (parents, players and bench staff) as well as the association.
