Hockey Is BACK Housekeeping Items
We're so excited to bring the Bears back this week and we have some housekeeping items to share as we do! With all things Covid, there is constant change in rules and restrictions. Please know we have a fantastic group of volunteers on and off the ice working hard to make this happen so please be patient as we work out the kinks!

Arena Protocols 2021-2022 Season

The arena protocols for this season are similar to what was required last season for players and parents to attend.

This season spectators are allowed to enter the arenas to watch the games!  This is great news.  All spectators must go directly to the viewing area (bleachers) and maintain a 2 metre distance from other families.  Capacity in the viewing area is limited to 50% capacity.

Process and Requirements for Arena Access

  • All participants and spectators must complete the SMMHA screening questionnaire the day they are attending the arena.  A QR code will be posted at the arena with a link to the questionnaire which can be completed on your mobile device. After first use, you can save the QR link to complete the questionnaire prior to arriving at the rink but it must be done on the day of attendance.

  • Participants must be dressed in all equipment excluding skates, helmet and gloves and must wear a mask prior to entering the arena.  Masks must remain on until the player is ready to put on their helmet and take the ice.

  • Participants will line up outside the arena door and will be allowed in by arena staff 15 minutes prior to their ice time.

  • Physical distancing must be practiced in all areas of the arena except for the ice surface and team benches, as they are considered part of the play area.

  • Parents and spectators must also wear a mask prior to entering the arena and masks must remain on at all times inside the arena.

  • Doors will be locked at the start of the ice time.  No access to the arena is allowed after initial entry.  Spectators are asked to remain in the viewing area for the entire session.

  • After the ice time has concluded players will leave the ice surface, remove their helmets and put their masks back on, before removing any other equipment.

  • Spectators shall leave the arena immediately after the ice time has finished.

  • Players must leave the arena no more than 15 minutes after their ice time has finished.

Gravenhurst Arena

  • Spectators must enter at the same time as the players.

  • Spectators must proceed directly to the viewing area.

  • Masks are to be worn by all spectators at all times inside the arena

Bracebridge Arena

  • Players will enter the arena 15 minutes before their ice time.

  • After all players have entered the arena staff will allow spectators in.

  • Spectators must proceed directly to the viewing area.

  • Masks are to be worn by all spectators at all times inside the arena
