It’s time to nominate the SMMHA volunteers that have positively impacted your season most!
Bears hockey is not possible without our volunteers and many put in a tremendous amount of work! These awards are the perfect way to show our appreciation to all those going above and beyond to make a difference for our association. Awards will be presented at our year end banquets and nominations will remain open until March 12th, 2023. Please see our Nomination Forms below or go to the "Nominations" tab on our website.
SMMHA Volunteer of the Year
Any and all volunteers within SMMHA are eligible to receive this award, not just bench staff or board members. The recipient will have demonstrated outstanding volunteerism in some capacity within our association in this season.
Matt Kelley Award for Dedication
This award is for the long term volunteer who has dedicated themselves to SMMHA and Minor Hockey year after year; season after season. This will be presented to the nominee who dedicates time for the pure love of the game and seeks the joy & success of the players in our organization.
Local League Coach of the Year
Please nominate a Coach from a Local League team, that you feel was a strong leader, teacher and helper. Someone that encouraged the development of each player, while focusing on fair play for everyone.
Local League Manager of the Year
Managers are responsible for the operational aspects of the team, allowing the coaches to focus on player development and on-ice instruction. Your manager should be the central figure in creating the flow of communication between your team (parents, players and bench staff) as well as the association. Please nominate a LL Manager that you feel best fits this description.
B/C Coach of the Year
Please nominate a Coach from a B or C team, that you feel was a strong leader, teacher and helper. Someone that encouraged the development of each player, while focusing on fair play for everyone.
B/C Manager of the Year
