Season begins!

Here you will receive updates on how the team is doing. While every effort will be made to stay up-to-date, there should be something here on a weekly basis to stay informed.
The team has now been selected and the official roster will be posted shortly. It was a very competitive tryout this year with only 4 players remaining from last year's Ontario Champions. The staff is excited for the potential development of this young team but it will be up to the players how much can be learned and improved regarding skills, team jelling and physical conditioning, before we know just how good they can become. We already see some buy-in to the high tempo practice and play that will be demanded.
Our first game of the season with the set roster was against Parry Sound and while starting slowly, the team got their wind and ended the game with a 4-2 win.
Last night we travelled to Collingwood to play and exhibition against the always tough Blackhawks and they can out pounding early and jumped to a lead but the Bears came back strong, skated better than their first exhibition VS Parry Sound, and the game ended in a 3-3 tie. It's what we would call a good road game! Lots was learned about what this team will be like going forward and where the 'work' needs to be done.
Next game is another exhibition against Parry Sound in Gravenhurst on Sunday the 27th at 4pm. It will prove to be a good one being the 1st time both teams have their full rosters in place to face each other.
