Bears sweep weekend
The A W Sheir's Bears swept 4 games this past weekend in preparation for the Regional Silver Stick tournament in Haliburton this weekend.
Game 1 Friday saw the team travel to Parry Sound to play the home town Shamrocks. The team took their time sizing up this team before potting 5 on rout to a 5-1 win. Game 2 Saturday in Gravenhurst, the Bears hosted Penetang. The flood gates opened up and Penetang managed to put 8 past our tenders. In response, the Bears netted 11 to take the game 11-8. Game 3 Sunday and the always tough Muskoka Rock rolled into town. The Bears defence and goalie shut down the Rock, only allowing 1 goal in a 7-1 victory. Game 4 on Monday night, and Parry Sound game into town looking for revenge. The Bears off ice conditioning kicked in and they showed no sign of fatigue as they out skated and out scored the Shamrocks 9-1. A great weekend in preparation for this weekend when the Bears play 3 games Saturday against PEC, Ennismore and Douro. Good Luck team!!
