Schomberg Tourny
The A.W. Shier Bantam AE Bears traveled to Schomberg this past weekend for their first tournament of the Year.
Game 1 pitted the Bears against a tough Mitchell team. Mitchell was a strong fast team and our Bears looked a little uncomfortable in the first period. the team fronted the Meteor's 4 goals part way through the 2nd period. After the team realized they could skate with them, the rest of the game saw the team score twice and only allow 2 more. The game ended in a 6-2 loss.
Game 2 Saturday morning had the boys facing the host Red Wings. A fast paced game saw the host team pull away for a 8-1 win.
Game 3 Saturday afternoon was against Chatsworth. A couple line changes and the team came out flying. Fast break outs, hard fore checking lead to a 4-1 win...ending the weekend on a high note.
Coming up...a couple of home games, Monday and Friday vs Huntsville, then a few days off before a tough 4 game/ 4 day schedule to end the month.
