Game #1 Playoffs!
The PWS South Muskoka Major Midgets began their 2015 playoff run against the Huntsville Otters this past Friday night.
As expected, even though the Bears had swept the Otters in the regular season, this game was a tough fight from beginning to end. As is needed in playoff games, contributions came from every part of the line-up and the team also played with great discipline, a huge factor if this team is to have success. The scoring started with a goal by Tasnadi who was in the right place at the right time to clean up a loose puck in front of the net after some great work and assists by Lyndon and Wood.
The Otters didn't quit however and tied it up in the second period. After that however, Owen Nudd shut the door and didn't allow anything more past him. On an absolutely pure face off win in the offensive zone, Wood, drew it back right on to Cox's stick... who then made no mistake and the puck saw nothing but net. Score 2-1 Bears!
The game remained close however until finally in the 3rd, Bailey scored one of his trade mark 'bar down' shots from the edge of the blue paint to put this game to rest. Assists were well deserved to Jobson and Delarosbil.
Special thanks in this game go out to Drew Peacock and Lucas Lahay who came up from the AE team to bolster the line up. Knowing these two can step in at any time and help the team is always comforting.
