Bears take game 2 and 3 with huge weekend effort!
The Progressive Waste Solutions South Muskoka Bears won both their weekend games to move ahead in the best of 5 series 2 games to 1.
Game 3 of the series took place in Bracebridge before a packed house. A huge THANK YOU to everyone in South Muskoka who came out to support the boys. It clearly made a difference! It was a tough game with the Bears striking first in the 1st period. The second saw the Bears hemmed in playing defence most of the time. Fortunately the Bears struck again to go up by 2. It seemed as though the Bears either tired or were resting a bit on this 2 goal lead because St. Mary's pressed for a while and were rewarded with a goal before the end of the second period.
After the flood, it was a more even game but the Rock scored again to tie things up. This certainly lifted Rock spirits but it also served to wake up the Bears who found their game again and answered back with a goal of their own. This back-and-forth carried on until finally, the game was put to rest by Everette Nudd who played with great heart at the end and provided the goal that sealed the win.
The most difficult task still lies ahead and it will require a supreme effort against a never-say-die St. Mary's team.
Game 4 is in St. Mary's Saturday the 28th at 3 pm.
