Playoff time!
The infamous 'Second Season' begins!
This past Sunday, the Orillia Terriers came to visit for a tune-up exhibition game in Gravenhurst. It was a great match during the Orillia tourney earlier this season where the Bears prevailed in a very close game, so it was thought these two teams would both benefit from a game to prepare for playoffs.
It was a close game as expected. The Bears gained a 1 goal lead in the 1st, and the Terriers evened things up in second. Finally, with less than a minute remaining, the Terriers scored a power play goal to go ahead by one. Not giving up however, the Bears pulled their goalie and got a few good shots with less than 15 seconds remaining but couldn't put one in the net so the game ended 2-1 for the Terriers... handing the Bears only their 5th loss all season. If there was one game note worth mentioning, it was that Orillia only scored on the power-play.
Our first playoff opponent is Huntsville. The series begins in Bracebridge Arena 8 pm this Friday. We hope everyone will bring their family and friends to support our oldest South Muskoka minor hockey team. A large and noisy crowd helps inspire so come out and help these boys continue their winning ways.
