U11 NorStar Rep, 2021-2022 (South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association)

Recently the NorStar U11 Rep South Muskoka Bears travelled to Listowel to compete in the Gordie Hymer 2022 Tournament. The skills competition portion of Saturday's competition allowed our Bears players to really shine! Well done to Bennett Fitzmaurice for winning the backward skating competition, Jake Zedic for winning the shooting competition, Levi Weening for skating into the semi-finals of the forward skating competition and honourable mention to Tucker Tomlinson in net. 

After a hard fought battle on ice Sunday, capping off a triple header home weekend, the NorStar U11. Rep Bracebridge Bears showed their respect to the opposing team by congratulating them with a stick clap! Respect in sport, it's something our team values.

With a final score of 4-3, they really turned things around with 32 shots on other teams' net, only allowing 7 on their own net. Goalie, Brody Hinton, played a great game today, letting in only 3 goals out of 21 shots. Although all players worked hard, there are two who deserve special recognition. Tanner Odman won the Hard Hat Award, and Levi Weening won the Creative Play Award for his skilled back checking throughout the game. South Muskoka Bears travelled to Elmvale and were defeated by the Coyotes 10-0. The Bears started off the game strong and Tomlinson made many solid saves in net against the multiple hard hitting shots. Coulter had a great opportunity rushing towards the net that just didn’t materialize and Faulkner speed skated to release a great shot that was just wide. Fitzmaurice, Guy and Orr iced the puck well on multiple penalty kills. Budd moved the puck well to skate well for the final period. And finally, Cross and Gauthier played hard until the final buzzer.
