Bantam AE's win home tournament!
The A.W. Shier's Bantam AE played 4 hard fought games this past weekend in capturing the Kris Clement Memorial Championship trophy.
Game 1 on Saturday pitted our Bears against regular season foes Elmvale. It was a close game for the first period, but the Bears busted open the flood gates in the 2nd and 3rd and blanked the Coyotes 5-0.
Game 2 saw the Bears face a feisty Listowel team. The Bears were sluggish finding it hard to keep up. In the end, the boys managed to pull out a narrow 3-2 victory.
Game 3 Sunday morning, already in the championship, the Bears faced Lucan, who they would play in the finals. The boys skated hard, allowed very few chances and came away with a 3-1 victory.
Game 4, the Championship game was a rematch of the earlier game. The team came out flying, skating hard and managed to get 5 past the Lucan goalie making them this years Champions. Great job to all of the players and coaching staff!
