Win Streak Continues
Saturday took the NorStar Bears to South River for a final regular season match up with the Almaguin Ice Devils. It was the first trip north for the team and the team was ready for a good game.
The first period started with some of our rookie players taking a more prominent role on the forward lines, while the veterans played defense. It was a great way for the kids to show their stuff. Mitchell Webb took on the goal tending duties in the first half of the game.
During the first period the Bears popped 3 into the net with goals by Alex Quemby, assisted by Nick Dowling; Cody Thomas and Zach Stephen, assist by Dowling.
The second period brought 3 more unanswered goals by Dowling, Jordan Willford assisted by Quinton Greenfield and Greenfield from Ryan Hammond.
The end of the goal fest saw the Bears add 8 more to the scoreboard when Quemby finished off her hat trick with assists from Greenfield and Ben Stephen. Quinton Greenfield also finished his hat trick in the 3rd assisted by Reece Thompson and Cody Thomas. The rest of the credits go to Hammond, Dowling, Willford and Thomas, the assists go to Willford, Greenfield, Thompson, Thomas and Ben Stephen.
The Ice Devils were able to score one in the third to end the game with another win for the Bears 14 - 1.
