January 20 game vs Middaugh MasonryOn Saturday January 20th, the Envotek team faced off against local rival Middaugh Masonry. Having lost 2-0 in their first meeting, the team knew they were in for another tough match up. With this in mind, the kids came out strong right from the opening faceoff, and were able to notch two goals before the end of the first period. Even the loss of a teammate within the first minutes of the game due to illness, left the team undeterred. They continued their strong forechecking throughout the next two periods, and the defensive unit continued to turn back many rushes by the opposing team. Ben in net played his usual strong game, surrendering only one late goal. In the end, the boys prevailed 6-1, highlighted by the first ever hat trick for Wyatt!
The game also saw the team continue to improve on their positional play and passing. They are continuing to work hard, always backchecking and supporting each other, which is resulting in success on the ice. Way to go Envotek!
Helmut received player of the game because he is a consistent defensive stopper and broke up many rushes during the game. He also showed some offensive flair sending a teammate in on a breakaway and held the blue line well in the offensive zone. Great job Helmut!
