January 6 game vs Huntsville Muskoka Custom ElectricOn Saturday January 6th, after a well-deserved winter break, Envotek travelled to Jack Bionda arena to take on the tough 2nd place Huntsville Custom Electric Heating team. Having defeated Huntsville in their first meeting, the kids knew they were in for a tough game, with Huntsville looking to even the season series. The boys came out strong in the 1st period, and were only denied the lead by the Huntsville goaltender, who stopped several breakaway attempts, leaving the period scoreless.
Falling behind 1-0 early in the 2nd, Envotek kept pressing and were rewarded with a goal to tie up the game. Envotek was down 3-1 at the end of the period and this, along with concern over the loss of a teammate due to injury, seemed to somewhat deter the kids slightly.
However, there were several close misses for Envotek throughout the 3rd, including a breakaway attempt ringing off the post, making the end result of the game 5-1.
Player of the game went to Finn, who put forth his usual determined effort, making several defensive stops before having to leave the game with a hand injury (but not before completing his shift while injured, showing his true grit and perseverance.) Way to go Finn!
