The Fowler Peewee Bears had another successful tournament run this
past weekend in Lincoln. After 4 games the Bears were undefeated going
into the finals. The team fought hard and had lots of chances but ultimately
lost to Thorold in the championship game.

Game number one was a tough match against Lambeth. Outshot 33-9, the Bears managed to squeak out a tie 1-1 thanks in large part to goaltender Porter Knight.

Our second game was against Thorold. This game was much more even and again ended with a tie 2-2.
We knew a win was needed in the third game to secure advancing to the next round. The Bears played a tough Pelham team which we had faced once before and tied. This time the Bears played very strong hockey scoring 4 goals to take the win 4-1.
The semi-final game matched us up with a team we had seen the week before. Our record versus Elmvale was one win and one lost. The game was again dominated by very strong goaltending on both sides with the score 0-0 after 3 periods. Overtime was 4 on 4 and the Bears came out on top with a clutch shot coming from Daniel Downing.

Making it to the final game brought the Bears back head to head with Thorold who we had tied 2 days before. After five great games of hockey, the Bears just didn’t have enough left in the tank and went down 3-0.

Congratulations to the whole team on a great weekend of exciting hockey. Go Bears go!
