All Coaching Staff, Trainers, Managers, Board Members, Association Staff and those who help on the ice are required under OMHA, OHF, and Hockey Canada rules, to be screened with a Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (VSS).

All NEW & RETURNING volunteers MUST have a valid VSS and must be received by Sept 1, 2024 (for Coaches), Oct 1st, 2024 (for additional bench staff).

We will not accept a VSS from another business, profession or organization.

Thank you for your understanding.

Any questions please contact our VP/ Privacy Officer at [email protected]

If you would like to volunteer to be on the ice this season to help out please read the following information carefully on the new Vulnerable Sector Screening Policy by the Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF).

In the past  Vulnerable Sector Checks have been requested from your local detachment or online and then the completed screening has been submitted to SOUTH MUSKOKA MINOR HOCKEY and we attached it to your Hockey Canada Registry profile.  The OHF now will be responsible for attaching your VSC screening to your HCR profile.

You will still need to request your vulnerable sector check from your local detachment or online.  You can still request these online here.  Ontario Provincial Police - Police Record Checks (opp.ca)

Please see the letter from the OHF attached that you will need to provide here. ohf-letter-requesting-vulnerable-sector-check.pdf

Once you have this completed you will need to log on to the OHF website and start the process of uploading your VSC to their portal and then they will view and verify these and attach them to your HCR profile. You will find all of the instructions on how to upload this to the OHF portal here. OHF Vulnerable Sector Checks | Ontario Hockey Federation

If you have a valid VSC from 2022-23 or 2023-24 you can upload that along with the completed declaration form ohf-screening-declaration-form.pdf to the OHF via the same process.  You do not need to request a new one but must upload the one you have along with the completed and signed declaration.

Everyone will need to complete this process before they can be on the ice!  Please be aware there is a 4-6 week turnaround time for this.
