Stan Darling Insurance South Muskoka Bantam AE Bears win vs. Huntsville and lose vs. Almaguin on home ice over the Dec 10 & 11th weekend...

On Sat. Dec 10th, the Stan Darling Insurance South Muskoka Bantam AE Bears hosted the Almaguin Bantam Ice Devils for the 4th time this season. With 2 wins and 1 tie for the Bears, the Ice Devils were hungry for a win. The Bears were down by 1 goal with minutes left in the 3rd and with an empty net and an extra attacker, could not find the back of the net. The Ice Devils took the win 4-2 with an empty net goal at the end of the 3rd.
On Sunday Dec 11th, the Bantam AE Bears hosted long time rival Huntsville AE Otters. The Otters were up a game with the win at the last meeting back in early October, but the Bears came out to win. The Bears were first on the scoreboard 1/2 way through the 1st period, goal scored by C. Thomas, assisted by C. Woolhouse, and E. Goodfellow. The Bears pulled ahead late in the 2nd period, goal scored by J. Wilford. The Otters fought back with a goal to make it 2-1 for the Bears heading into the 3rd period. Bears net minder I. Fantuz made some incredible saves to keep the Otters at 1. With seconds left in the game C. Woolhouse chipped one into an empty Otters net for a final score 3-1 for the Bears. First to the puck, offensive pressure, solid defence, and plenty of pucks at the net ... a well deserved win for the Stan Darling Insurance Bantam AE Bears!
