Game #1 Bears win 6-3, Game #2 Bears win 3-2, Game #3 Bears win 12-4 to win the series and move on to the quarter finals in OMHA play downs...

The Bears took an early lead in game #1 vs. Huntsville with 3 goals in the first period. The Otters fought back but the Bears battled right through the 3rd to finish the game 6-3 for the first win of the series. 
Game #2 was a nail biter! With emotions running high and the penalty box occupied by both teams for most of the 2nd period, it was the refs that settled the game down for the 3rd period with the game tied up 2-2. The Bears dug deep and beat the Huntsville net minder for the go ahead goal with only 6 seconds remaining in the game, final score 3-2 for the 2nd win of the series.
Game #3 was a thriller! The Bears once again pulled ahead early in the game with 3 quick goals in the 1st. The Otters battled but the Bears kept the pressure on, pounding the pucks at the Otters net minder, pulling ahead to win the series 3 games straight with a commanding 12-4 final score. Top goal scorers for the series, T. Hornick-Martin with 5 goals - an amazing 4 goals in the final game of the series, D. Dafoe with 5, and K. Johnson with 4, series total GF 21, GA 8. Top notch goaltending by the Bears net minders I. Fantuz and E. Guthrie throughout the series! Stan Darling (1911-07-16 – 2004-04-11) founded Stan Darling Insurance in 1938. He expanded the business to a Real Estate agency which remained operational until 2002. Born in Callander, Ontario, he moved to Burk’s Falls and was elected to the Burk’s Falls Town Council in 1942. He was a councilor for 4 years and reeve for 26 years. In the 1953 federal election, he ran unsuccessfully as the Progressive Conservative candidate for the House of Commons in the riding of Parry Sound – Muskoka. He tried again successfully in the 1972 federal election and won re-elections five more times in 1974, 1979, 1980, 1984 and 1988. He did not seek re-election in the 1993 campaign, retiring at the age of 82. Stan was father to Peter and John who operated the insurance and real estate offices after his move to Ottawa as the Parry Sound / Muskoka Member of Parliament. He has four grandchildren; Patrick, Stephen, Jason and Victoria. Stephen and Jason are the current owners of Stan Darling Insurance Inc.
