U15B Bears Win Gold at Dan Bell Memorial!!!
The Dan Bell Memorial wrapped up yesterday with two final teams in the U15-B division battling it out for top spot. The South Muskoka Bears, with an impressive record of 4 - 0 in round robin play faced off against the Halton Hills Thunder (2-1-1). The Bears managed to shutout Halton Hills in a 5-0 game to win the Championship Game and take home the gold and the trophy, with Halton leaving with the silver. Congrats to our Bears - well deserved!
In the U13B Division, the Bears made it through to the semi-finals and put up a good fight, but the final game was played between the Listowel Cyclones and the Saugeen Shores Storm. The game was close but the Cyclones beat out Saugeen Shores in a 4 - 2 win, to clinch the top title and take home gold. A big shout out to the South Muskoka teams, their bench staff, managers and parent volunteers who all gave their time to put on such a great home tournament. Thanks as well to our local arena staff and refs; couldn't do it without you. And, thanks as well to our sponsors, Calvalcade Ford and Zarmac Benefits Inc., for supporting minor hockey in Muskoka.
