RELEVANT COVID - 19 POLICIES (GRAVENHURST ARENA)

1. Teams will not be allowed into the arena until 30 minutes prior to the game time.  Please do not arrive early and request to be let in.  There must be an arena vaccination screener as well as an SMMHA screener, and they will arrive for the 30 minutes prior.  We appreciate your patience and understanding in this respect.  Players must arrive dressed, with the exception of their skates and helmet.

2. Spectators are allowed.  While there is a maximum capacity of 50%, given the size of the arena, this will not be an issue for this tournament.

3. Before entering the arena (through the MAIN ENTRANCE - go past the entrance closest to the parking lot and it is further up on your left), a Gravenhurst arena staff member (not an SMMHA member) will be checking for proof of vaccination from any adult/parent/spectator over the age of 12 years old. Those persons will be required to show proof of vaccination and Proof of Identification, each time they enter the arena.  Once a spectator enters the facility, they must remain there.  If they leave the facility, they will not be allowed re-entry for the remainder of that game.

For further details on the arena's vaccination proof policy, please go to southmuskokaminorhockey.com and find this link under COVID-19 protocols.

4.   With respect to the teams, all team managers must (before parents/players enter) ensure that the COVID-19 screening protocol and contact tracing information form has been filed with the SMMHA Covid-screener at the door prior to away parents entering, so that SMMHA can check compliance.   This paperwork will be emailed to you.   The use of the arena QR Code is NOT IN USE for this tournament.  Please do not have your parents or players use that link or QR Code.

5. Once the COVID screening and vaccination checking has been done, spectators will head directly to the stands and players will proceed to the dressing rooms.  Signage will be posted to assist out of town teams.

6.     The washrooms in the main hallways/entrance area will now be open for public use on the tournament weekend.

6.    When players/bench staff enter the arena, they will be assigned two dressing rooms.  Please split the team evenly to assist in social distancing and have the players/bench staff wear masks until their helmet goes on or comes off.

6. All spectators must go directly to the viewing area (bleachers) and maintain a 2 metre distance
from other families and wear masks at all times in the arena.  Spectators will be required to remain in the stands for the duration of the practice/game/intermissions, etc. unless they are leaving to use the washroom or vending machine.  They must return to the stands and not loiter in the lobby.  At the end of the ice time, parents will be asked to wait in the stands to avoid congestion, until their player is undressed so as not to block up the hallways or they have the option of waiting outside the facility while their child gets undressed.

7. Physical distancing must be practiced in all areas of the arena except for the ice surface and team benches, as they are considered part of the play area.

8.  Doors will be locked at the start of the ice time. No access to the arena is allowed after
initial entry. If the doors are closed, please do not "pry" them open!

9. After the ice time has concluded players will leave the ice surface, remove their helmets
and put their masks back on, before removing any other equipment.

10.   Spectators shall leave the arena immediately after the ice time has finished.

11.   Players must leave the arena no more than 15 minutes after their ice time has finished.

12.   Water stations at the arena are open.

Thanks everyone.  We appreciate your understanding with respect to these protocols.
