Dodge Caravan Family Fun Day Tournament, News, Envotek, Novice LL - Dodge Caravan, 2017-2018 (South Muskoka Minor Hockey Association)

On Monday, February 19^th, the South Muskoka Envotek Bears travelled to Barrie to participate in the Dodge Caravan Family Fun Day Tournament.  A total of 16 teams participated in this fun and well-run event, which meant there would be plenty of competition awaiting the kids.  It was evident from the first puck drop of the day that the kids were up for the challenge!

The entire Envotek team showed the true meaning of determination and teamwork in this tournament with seven different players notching the team’s 12 goals. The two strong forward lines kept the pressure on all day, with a shutdown 3-man defensive unit and great goaltending limiting the opposition to only six goals in all four games the team played. The individual contributions of all ten of these players was notable. Over the course of the day, the forwards - Chris, Wyatt, Beckett, Jaxon, Noah and Aiden - all chipped in with goals.   The slightly undermanned defensive group of Austin, Helmut and Kallum was up for the task, shutting down the opposition all day long, and Ben made many outstanding saves to preserve victories in all four games.

The day saw the kids skating hard and determined to take on their opposition with high energy and ultimately swept through their opposition in division A in three hotly contested matches.  This earned them a spot in the championship final against the first-place finishers of division B, the Ajax Turner Moore LLP team.  The Envotek kids completed their championship mission with a win in the final game, becoming the undefeated champs of the tournament, strongly representing South Muskoka both on and off the ice.

The bench staff and parents were extremely proud of the Envotek kids and their determination on the ice to sweep the tournament and come out on top as champions. Every one of the boys deserved the medal they received! What better way to spend Family day, than at the rink cheering on our kids and having fun!
