Stan Darling Insurance Bantam AE Bears move on to the OMHA semi-final after winning the 1/4 final series vs. Douro Dukes in 5 games...
The Bears started the series off at home with a solid 6-2 win. Game #2 in Duoro, the Bears found themselves on their heels and came home with a loss, final score 5-3. Game #3 back at home, Duoro once again took the win, final score 5-3. With the series 2-1 for Douro the Bears hit the road for game #4. The Bears showed up as a team and played hard throughout the entire game. Heads up smart hockey led to a commanding 9-2 win over Douro. With the series tied 2-2, game #5 was a nail biter! The Bears scored first near the end of the 1st period to make it 1-0. With plenty of pucks at the net and steady offensive pressure the Bears could not beat the Douro net minder. No scoring at either end until early in the 3rd when the Bears pulled ahead 2-0. With 2 minutes left in the 3rd, Douro pulled the goalie which allowed the Bears to seal the win with an empty netter, final score 3-0 to win the series.
