Stan Darling Insurance South Muskoka Bantam AE Bears come home with a big win vs. Collingwood
For the final regular season game the Stan Darling Insurance Bantam AE Bears travelled to Collingwood for the 2nd match of the season and came home with a big win, final score 6-1...

The Bears were first to get on the scoreboard, with less than 3 minutes into the game C. Thomas cycled out from the corner & put the puck top shelf, assisted by C. Woolhouse. The Blackhawks defence held off the Bears offensive pressure keeping the game at 1-0 into the 2nd period. With a forward rush, T. Danko muscled his way through the Blackhawk defence for a breakaway and a sweet deke to make it a 2-0 game. Danko goal assisted by E. Goodfellow. The Bears had the Blackhawks on their heels throughout the 2nd. Bears defence, S. Schepp blasted a shot from the point and C. Thomas hit the rebound with a one-timer bullet under the goalies pads to make it 3-0 to end the 2nd. The Bears were on fire, with several Bears and Blackhawks in the penalty box the Bears found the back of the net on the power play. After cycling the puck around and around the Blackhawk net it was a rocket shot from the blue line by defence Q. Greenfield that sent the rebound out front for C. Thomas to slam by the Blackhawk net minder making it a 4-0 game, and a hat trick for C. Thomas! Collingwood rallied back for one goal but the Bears answered with 2 more before the final buzzer. With solid puck possession in the Blackhawk end, C. Woolhouse cycled around for the 5th goal, and the last goal was a high shot just wide of the net by C. Woolhouse that rebounded back in front of the net for E. Goodfellow to fire to the back of the net to end the game 6-1 for the Bears.
The Bears hustled and grinded, utilizing the defence for point shots while parked in front of the net for tips and rebounds. Lots of pucks at the net and many scoring chances. The Blackhawks tested the Bears net minders but both E. Guthrie and I. Fantuz stood tall and kept them to 1 goal. Player of the game was given to J. Cousineau for a solid heads up game. With this win the Bantam AE Bears finish the regular season 10-6-2, GF 86 & GA 59, ending up in 1st place in the Muskoka Parry Sound loop. Keep going Bears!
