trek to St. Mary's this weekend for games 3 -and 4 , if needed.
After winning the toss and getting home ice advantage, the Bears worked relentlessly for this first win. Out-skating and out-shooting St. Mary's, South Muskoka simply could not get the rubber past the netminder. After much tenacity, the boys were finally rewarded with a goal late in the 2nd frame. The arena was packed and the vibe was intense.
With more end-to-end action, it was truly a matter of trying to hold onto that 1 goal difference. Ultimately, the Bears squeaked out a 1-0 win with an edge -of-your-seat 45 minute nerve-wracking hockey game.
Game 2 in Bracebridge brought with it a barn full of spectators. Clearly fueled by the home energy, the boys wasted no time in bending the twine. By the end of the 1st it was a 2-0 advantage. By the 3rd, it was a 5-0 lead. The 3rd also saw a goal with a final thumping of 6-1.
Game 3 will take the boys to St. Mary's this Saturday March 11 & 12th for what we hope will be a full blown sweep right across the board.

This is an exciting time for these 14-15 year old boys. Not many players get to see this kind of success.
A clean sweep across the board would be an incredible accomplishment. Stay tuned for up-dates.
