Some great hockey played at home tourney!
Some strong teams visited South Muskoka this past weekend for Midget and Bantam Rep hockey.  CONGRATS TO OUR BANTAM BEAR CHAMPIONS!

The Progressive Waste Solutions Bears didn't fare quite as well although some good hockey was played against quality teams.

The 1st game saw the Bears tie Grimsby 2-2.  It's fair to say the Bears may have won this one had some late chances produced a goal.

The 2nd game was against Niagara-On-The-Lake.  This was a good team and unfortunately it was not a good day for the Bears.  In almost every facet of the game they didn't play like they know how.  The result was still close and they fell 2-0.  Some positives should be taken from this loss however in that it was perhaps the worst the team has played all year and they still only lost a close one

The 3rd game was against a play-off opponent from last season, Prince Edward County.  It was expected the Prince Edward team would be out to avenge their elimination from last years playoffs by the Bears.  Showing the coaches they can certainly play better than their 2nd game effort, the Bears came out strong and piled up a 3-0 lead.  The margin needed to be at least 3 goals to advance to the playoff round on Sunday and unfortunately a goal by the Kings made the final 3-1. By the narrowest of margins, the Bears were eliminated from the semi finals on Sunday.

A big THANK YOU to the tournament organizers and all the parents who chipped in with their time to help out. A special thank you also to Kerrie Graham who did most of our time booth.  It was a much appreciated by everyone!
