The Bears were first to get on the scoreboard midway through the 1st period. Cyrus B. parked right in front of the Coyote netminder put one in the back of the net, assist to Michael B. 1st period ended with the Bears ahead 1-0.
Early in the 2nd Elmvale put one in to tie the game 1-1, but the Bears kept hustling and really turned up the heat, first to the puck, winning battles, and testing the Elmvale goalie with shots and rebounds. Their efforts paid off with 2 more goals to end the 2nd period ahead 3-1. Goals scored by Reyd T. assisted by Cyrus B, and Daniel D. (unassisted).
The 3rd period was all Bears, solid defense by Noah H., Colton M., Scott S., and Cameron G. and outstanding goaltending by Porter K. stopped the Coyotes at every chance. The Bears put another 3 goals on the scoreboard before the final buzzer. Cyrus B. on a breakaway put the puck top shelf where grandma puts the homemade jam, unassisted, and for the hat trick, Cyrus B. put another one by the Coyote netminder, assist to Daniel D. Last goal of the game scored by Jordan K., assisted by Scott S. Final score 6-1 for the Hammond Transport Peewee AE Bears.
Shots on net, Bears 31, Coyotes 23. We saw some heads up passing, bullet shots from the point, and lots of pucks at the net... a solid team effort offensively and defensively right to the end. Keep it coming Bears!
