The backhand is the most underused and the least practiced shot in hockey. Ask any goalie though and they will tell you it's the most unpredictable and hardest shot to read.
I have seen many sure thing goals the last couple of years disappear because a player does not trust his backhand. They waste valuable seconds switching to their forehand which allows the goalie to recover and get back in position to make the save. Just watch some of the magic man Pavel Datsyuk's highlight reel goals and you can see how valuable a "reverse wrister" can be.
The backhand is the second shot to practice on in our challenge and these videos will make sure you are practicing the shot correctly. Be sure to watch them as they also show you the common mistakes that lead to bad habits and shots that are not as accurate or as hard as they can be.
