Cold Arena but a Hot Team
No doubt about it - this was our coldest game of the year but the team was up to the task as they managed to overcome the Almaguin Ice Devils 8-5 in a game of momentum swings.

The first period was very close with a number of chances but nothing going in.  Almaguin finally took the lead 1-0 and then Almaguin took a penalty and the floodgates opened.   The Muskoka Highlands team very quickly scored a power play goal and then added two more within a minute surging ahead 3-1.   Another flurry in the period brought it up to 6-1.   Some tremendous passing and finishing as the players really took off.   The Ice Devils were not going to be embarrassed and they started a swing of their own and scored 3 unanswered goals to make it 6-4.    That finally changed with another goal by the Highlands taking it to 7-4 and the game finally ended with a score of 8-5.   The Muskoka Highlands team had some penalty trouble and made it a little harder on the goalies as they were two men short twice in the last two periods.    However they emerged victorious with a score of 8-5 in the icy confines of the Sundridge arena.
