IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR ATOM SECOND ENTRY TRYOUTS
Please note that the previously scheduled Atom AE tryout has now been amended to be an Atom Select tryout.  All players who attended the Atom Rep tryouts and were released from that team AS WELL AS any other Atom aged players currently registered for house league this season who are interested in playing Atom Select are invited to attend.  The first tryout is today, Sunday September 7th at 3:00 pm at Bracebridge Arena.  Some facts about this year's Atom Select team:..........

  • It will have a dedicated regular and recurring weekday practice time
  • It will participate with a reduced schedule in the MPS AE league this season, just as an AE team would have
  • It will play some additional games against other centres' Select teams as well
  • It will participate in up to two out-of-town tournaments as well as its own home tournament
  • All players will also be required to play Atom house league where they will have another regular weekday practice and a Saturday house league game
  • House league games will continue to be interlocked with other MPS centres, so these Atom house league teams will play against Huntsville, Almaguin, Muskoka Rock, etc.
  • An Atom Select player will therefore have a combined two regular weekday practices to attend, one Saturday house league game, and often one Friday night or Sunday Select game against an MPS AE opponent or another centre's Select team.
  • The additional cost to participate on this team beyond registration cost will be $100 plus whatever amount is required by the team's coach to cover tournament entry fees, but regardless likely around $200 and significantly less than the usual Rep fee.
