Scotiabank Peewee HL Giant Tiger Grizzly Bears Played Hard Home & Away
The Scotiabank Peewee HL Giant Tiger Grizzly Bears played hard in back to back games Saturday & Sunday ending the weekend with a loss to Parry Sound 2-0, and a loss to CC Tathum Kodiak Bears 5-4.

The Grizzly Bears travelled to Parry Sound on Saturday to meet the Shamrock Peewee HL team for the 2nd time this season. With a tie 3-3 in the 1st match, this game was further proof that these two teams are very evenly matched. With plenty of action and scoring chances at both ends of the ice, it was well into the 3rd period before the first goal of the game was scored. It was Parry Sound that found the back of the net to pull ahead 1-0. The Grizzly Bears fought hard and controlled the puck in the offensive zone for most of the 3rd period but could not get one by the Parry Sound net minder. A bad deflection in our end added another goal near the end of the game, making it 2-0 for Parry Sound to end the game. Plenty of cheers on our bench for a game well played.
On Sunday, it was a nail biting, edge of your seat game vs fellow HL rival CC Tathum Kodiaks. The Kodiaks started off the scoring in the first minute of play to make it 1-0 for the Kodiaks. Within minutes the Grizzlies answered to tie it up, 1-1, goal scored by Ethan C, assist to John C, top corner - bullet backhand shot ... nice Ethan! The Kodiaks came back with another goal within minutes to pull ahead 2-1. With a minute left in the 1st period the Grizzlies tied it up to make it 2-2. Unassisted goal by Tenney D, great forward rush and a solid shot five hole.... nice Tenney!
Early in the 2nd period the Grizzlies put another goal in to pull ahead 3-2. Unassisted goal by Dawson S. , rocket wrist shot - glove side... nice Dawson! Again, Kodiaks answered within minutes to tie it up 3-3. The Grizzlies came back a minute later to pull ahead 4-3. Goal scored by John C, assisted by Ethan C, solid pass from Ethan right on John's stick in front of the net - bullet shot - five hole ... nice team work guys! With 2 minutes left in the 2nd period the Kodiaks got another goal to tie it 4-4.
All tied at 4-4 going into the 3rd period, the pace never slowed. End to end action, great saves, and plenty of puck battles. It was the Kodiaks that pulled ahead midway through the 3rd to make it 5-4. The Grizzlies battled until the end but couldn't find the back of the net again. Final score 5-4 for the Kodiaks. It was awesome to see the Grizzlies keep the pressure on right to the end. They were first to the puck and challenged the opposition, an exciting game to watch... and the best part of course -- the cheers on the bench after it was over, well deserved for a great game of hockey!
