Orillia Jim Wilson Tournament - Opening Night
Thursday Nov. 7th - Greavette South Muskoka Minor Midget Bears faced the Orillia Terriers Minor Midgets (game time 8pm). Some might have been worried about facing the Orillia Terriers Minor Midgets who have only lost one regular season game so far this year but the Bears turned it on and were able to pull off a big win.
Both teams played hard throughout the first period with good back and forth hockey and a lot of scoring opportunities. With only three minutes left in the period Defenseman Zach Low fired the puck up to Forward Everette Nudd who took the puck to the net and made a beauty pass over to Forward Will Cairns who slammed it right into the net. Both teams kept digging and fighting through the rest of the game but no goals were scored until the end of the third when Forward Angus MacGibbon deaked out the entire Orillia team and sunk the puck deep in the back of the Orillia net for South Muskoka's second goal. South Muskoka Goalie Mason White was on fire, ending the game with a SHUTOUT he stood on his head! FINAL SCORE was 2-0 for the GREAVETTE MINOR MIDGET BEARS. Go BEARS Go!!!!! Great game. Keep up the good work guys. Next games are scheduled for Saturday Nov. 9th at 4pm in Rama and Saturday Nov. 9th at 9pm in Rama.
