President Resignation
Good Morning South Muskoka Families,

On September 10th, 2020, our President Stephanie Oates shared her concerns about confidentiality issues within our association, she followed protocol and expressed her concerns with the discipline and ethics committee. Throughout the following week, Stephanie reflected on her time as president and her current concerns and after careful consideration and discussions with her family Stephanie made the difficult decision to hand in her resignation. Her formal resignation was received by the board of directors on Saturday, September 18th.

Stephanie has been a SMMHA board member for 3+ years and during her time she showed great leadership and dedication. Her knowledge and guidance over the years has helped guide SMMHA on many difficult decisions and successes. Her presence on the board, committees and around the arena will be missed. Stephanie is the epitome of what volunteering and giving back to minor hockey and our community is all about.  I wish Steph the best of luck in all her future endeavours.

Moving forward, the association will need to fill this role as soon as possible.  The President of SMMHA comes with a lot of responsibilities and duties. We will open nominations for this position on Sunday, September 27th for the duration of one week. Please refer to the manual of operations section 13.1 for eligibility and duties.

Thank you,Naomi Atkinson , VP SMMHA
