Also included in the group are defenseman Tania Mills from Brampton (PWHL), goaltenders Julia Ouroumis from Whitby and Karlyle Robinson from Ridley College and forward Caitlin Connell from Edmonton.

Polci, a native of London, Ontario, is a talented forward who is transferring back to Canada from NCAA Division 1 Quinnipiac University. She sat out this past season while playing for Brampton in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League and will be eligible to play for the Lancers this fall.

Also a former member of the elite Toronto Junior Aeros of the PWHL and a standout forward with the national women’s under-18 program, Bree is expected to make a major impact in the OUA this coming season.

"We are really excited to have Bree committed to our Lancer program for the fall,” commented Head Coach Jim Hunter. “She is an exceptionally talented player who we anticipate will be a dynamic scorer and playmaker for our team.”

Armstrong, a native of Bracebridge, Ontario, spent the past two seasons in the PWHL with the Aurora Panthers. A skilled and experienced defenseman, Annie served as team captain for Aurora this past year.

"Annie is going to be a terrific addition to our program,” added Coach Hunter. “We’re thrilled that she is going to be wearing the blue and gold and we believe she is going to be a big part of the foundation of our program for years to come.”

Tania Mills is a Barrie, Ontario native who also played in the PWHL this past season with the Brampton Thunder. Also a skilled defenseman, Mills finished with 13 points in 34 games for Brampton this past year.

“Tania was the first member of this year’s recruiting class is going to be another big part of the future of our program,” added Hunter. “She is a really solid defenseman who can kill penalties and we are excited to get her on campus this fall.”

Also included in this year’s recruiting class is a pair of talented goaltenders in Karlyle Robinson and Julia Ouroumis. Robinson is a Barrie native who played for Ridley College in the North American Prep League this past year while Ouroumis is from Whitby, Ontario and played for Whitby Midget AA last season. Both goaltenders are expected to compete for major minutes in goal next season.

“Karlyle and Julia are two skilled goaltenders who are going to give us great depth in net,” added Hunter. “Both are capable of playing big minutes and I’m excited to see what they can do in the OUA next year.”

Caitlin Connell from Edmonton, who was already announced earlier this spring, will also join the Lancers for the 2011-12 season. Caitlin is a skilled forward who played for the Edmonton Thunder in the Alberta Major Midget League this past season.

“This year’s recruiting class is very talented and very deep,” commented Hunter. “We’ve been able to target some highly skilled players with great character and leadership abilities who we think can make an impact right away.”

The Lancer Women’s Hockey team is coming off a solid 2010-11 season that saw them ranked in the CIS Top Ten in Canada for the first time in program history and also earn a return trip to the OUA playoffs.

In addition to these new recruits, Hunter and the Lancers are also adding a new member to their coaching staff in Mike Spoors. Spoors is well known in the local hockey community having previously coached with the Windsor Wildcats in the PWHL.
